Upstate NY Weddings: Schenectady

For the final installment of our Upstate NY Weddings thread, we’re covering weddings in Schenectady, NY. Full of character and charm, it’s the perfect place to say “I do”!

Venue

From restaurants and bars to theatres and casinos, Downtown Schenectady has so much to offer you and your wedding guests. And if you want to be right in the heart of it all, look no further than Key Hall at Proctors! The venue was once home to Key Bank in the early 1900’s. Today, it’s Italian marble, gleaming terrazzo floors and 40-foot high ceiling offer the perfect backdrop for elegant city weddings.

And while your guests are enjoying cocktail hour, you and your new hubby can take a stroll around historic downtown!

Just a short drive down the street will bring you to our second “Schenectady” venue (actually in Scotia, NY), The Glen Sanders Mansion. This historic, waterfront venue is the ideal place for your dream wedding. It has everything you need to make your day perfect, including a 22 room inn for your friends and family!

The newly renovated ballroom and riverfront patio are perfect for any reception style.

Design

You’ve booked your venue and filled up your Pinterest board, now you just need someone to help bring your vision life! One of our favorite vendors located right in Schenectady, Experience and Creative Design, Ltd. will do just that! They offer everything from event planning to floral arrangements to help design your day.

Staycation

Downtown Schenectady has so much to offer, why not make the celebration last all weekend? Have your wedding on a Friday or Sunday and plan a whole weekend of activities. You could win some money for your honeymoon at the casino, catch a show at Proctors, tour some breweries, or even visit the aquarium! There’s something for everyone to enjoy! That’s what makes Schenectady the perfect city for your dream wedding.
