Real Weddings: Katy & Peter
Our talented partner, Rob Spring, had the honor to photograph a beautiful wedding at the Lakota Farm Wedding Barn, as seen in Vow Magazine. Katy and Peter tied the knot on September 30, 2018, and they haven’t looked back since. Here’s what they had to say about their gorgeous day!
Love at First Sight
Katy and Peter set out on their venue hunt looking for “a venue with natural beauty for an outdoor ceremony, along with a fun and beautiful reception area”. Lakota Farms was the second venue the couple visited, and “[they] fell in love with the property as soon as [they] arrived. With the barn, bar and cocktail area, bridal suite, man cave, pastures, and beautiful landscape for the ceremony – it offered much more than [they] imagined!”
Personal Touches
Katy and Peter knew their wedding was going to be the most special day of their lives, so they set the tone by sending out handcrafted personalized invitations by Jenny C Designs. Unique and personal; sounds exactly like what Katy & Peter had envisioned for their wedding day.
Pre-Wedding Prep
The morning of their big day Katy and Peter suited up to say I do! Katy looked like a princess in her embellished ballgown. To fit her unique style, she dressed her bridesmaids in a variety of prints and styles in different gray colors. They all absolutely killed it, we cannot get enough of this trend!
While the ladies were dressing to impress, the guys were taking a more casual approach to the pre-wedding prep…..don’t worry they were still ready on time!
Time to say “I do”!
For the ceremony and reception space, Katy and Peter “were envisioning a fairytale reception space, and Renaissance Floral Design went far above [their] wildest dreams to create that vision”! The floral team created “a starry night lighting in the wooden rafters and gorgeous floral arrangements throughout the space”. Katy and Peter had the pleasure of saying I do underneath a stunning floral arch.
Highlights of the Night
Considering how perfect their day was, it was hard for Katy and Peter to choose one moment that stood out above the rest. Even so, “from the personal ceremony to our emotional first dance to the delicious food to a fun and lively dance party courtesy of Patrick Bergeron at Metro Music – we will be remembering this day for the rest of our lives.” – Katy & Peter
Overall, Katy and Peter had an amazing time at their wedding and were particularly grateful for their vendors. They said “the service from the entire Mazzone team was above and beyond our expectations. They were very amenable to our ideas, and our guests are still raving about the late night breakfast food station, the last personal touch for the evening. From the beginning of the planning to the wedding night, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Mazzone Hospitality.”
Likewise, wedding planner Amy Schwartz said Katy & Peter were a joy to work with! Amy “loved how Katy & Peter enhanced the natural beauty of Wedding Barn at Lakota’s Farm with customized décor and accents”. She also credited their other vendors who “provided different key pieces to create a unique day for everyone. The space transformed into the fairytale reception they had dreamed about for months!”
