‘Tis the Season…
…for Bridal Shows! Make the most of the special offers from various vendors by coming prepared for the day ahead. Here are a few tips that will help you have a successful experience and hopefully even cross a few things off of that to-do list!
Hand Cramps are for Rookies: Every vendor you speak with will need your name, address, phone number and email in order to send you additional information and follow up on any requests you have made. Save your hand and print out a page or two of address labels with all of your information ahead of time.
Some Boots Aren’t Made for Walkin’: Wear comfortable shoes! It sounds basic but be prepared to be on your feet all day. There are so many fabulous things to see at the shows and you don’t want to be distracted by a pair of uncomfortable (although fashion forward) heels.
Decisions, Decisions: Come prepared to book. Bring the decision makers with you to the show (parents, fiancé, etc). Know your budget, know your priorities and make the move if you find something that is the right fit.
Leave your Entourage at Home: While it is important to have the decision makers there with you, a bridal show is not the place for you to bring every long lost cousin, roomie, high school friend or sorority sister. While you may think it will be fun, having too many people can equal too many opinions and way too much chaos. Bring the decision makers to the show and meet up with the rest of your crew for drinks after the event to discuss!
In the Bag: Not every bridal show provides you with a tote or bag for all of the materials you will be picking up. Bring something with you to hold all of your goodies.
She Who Fails to Plan…: Bridal shows can be overwhelming for the bride or groom who does not have a plan. Arrive early and review the list of vendors participating in the show. Make note of the vendors that are a MUST see and stop there first. While the vendor may not have more than a few minutes to chat, you can stop by, pick up materials, check availability & rates/specials and set up an appointment for a meeting in the future for more details!
Last but certainly not least, Have Fun! While your to-do list may feel endless it will get done; just remember it won’t all get done in one day!
