Go Green: Centerpieces

Another way that you can make your wedding more environmentally friendly is through your centerpieces.  Potted plants make great centerpieces and can add to the theme of a wedding.  By using colored pots, unconventional items such as tins as pots, or using ribbon to add color to a potted plant, you can really dress up a centerpiece and still have beautiful tables and incorporate your wedding colors.

Jessica and Dan were married at the Hall of Springs last summer, their centerpieces were these stunning potted orchids.

Another great way to do this is to reduce the number of cut flowers you might be using.  For example, the crystal trees or crystal candelabras on half of you tables, or the use of candles can be a great way to add interest and variety to your tables as well as help minimize the carbon footprint of your wedding.

  • Loving the elegance and simplicity of the first photo. Something any eco conscious bride and groom could do relatively cheaply. How about vases of fruit such as lemons and limes that could then be turned into cocktails the following day!? Yum…
