Meet the Finalists: Tifanie and Colby
Our Dream Date Weddings Giveaway continues on! We reviewed all the submissions and have the top five finalists for all of you to vote on. You can vote here, but you can only vote once, so make it count!! In order to help you make your decision we interviewed all five couples and will do a post on each one with a little more information.
Here’s our first couple, Tifanie and Colby.
These two met in Saratoga through a mutual friend and have been together four years. I asked Colby what made him realize Tifanie was the one, he told me “she has been making me laugh every day since we met, they tel you that you just know when you find that special person, and I know without a doubt that person for me is Tifanie.”
What a cute proposal story! The couple had friends over for the weekend and Colby and his guy friend Pat had been in and out most of the day, kind of ignoring the girls. So naturally, Tifanie was a little angry. When he came home she was trying really hard to give him the silent treatment (something she says doesn’t work very well because she can’t help but smile when she is around him.) It was then that Colby handed her a single long stem red rose. He told her that he loved her, and she forgot why she was mad. Then she noticed a diamond ring around the stem of the rose, Colby asked her to marry him, and she was so shocked she had to take a few seconds before she said “yes”.
That was June 12th 2010, now the couple are vying to win a free wedding at Glen Sanders Mansion. Tifanie says “As long as I am with Colby my dreams will always come true.” However, “I [Tifanie] have always dreamed that I could have my special day at this beautiful location. “
When asked why they think they are the most deserving of this grand prize, Tifanie answered “Saratoga has always been Colby’s home. I lost my mom when I was five years old and always found it hard to feel secure, I never really felt home. When I met Colby and moved to the area, I finally found a place to call home. I recently lost my job, and times have been hard for us, but with the bad comes good. We are hardworking, honest, good people. This opportunity would allow us to share our special day with our closest friends and family, in a way that would be otherwise impossible.”
tiff and colby realy deserve this! they have had a bad year…tiff just found out shes has some health problems and just a lot of other things they realy cant afford anything like this. and they are such good people they are always helping people before they even think of them selves. my vote goes to them and i hope other people read this and relize they deserve this too!
tiff and colby r my besties and i hop they win with tiff losing her job and being diagnosed with lupus and having to take all tho has hse expensive meds and no insurance has put a hold on there wedding she is so modest she didnt even try to explian that this is one of the reasons she cant have her dream wedding this young couple has helped me through thick and thin i love them dearly good luck guys
Colby and Tiffany sre such a lovely couple! What a lovely way to start their married life together it would be if they could have their dream come true.
I have known Tif for many years. I have watched her grow from a troubled teen into a fine, together woman. As mentioned she is extremely modest and has not mentioned the hardships she has known. When she was a lost teenager hanging out with my daughter I always saw the gentle kind soul that she is. She has always tried to help others even when things were at the lowest for her. Tif is like a daughter to me, I have been so proud of how she has pulled her life together to become the woman I could see in her. This past year has been very hard on her both financially and physically. If I could I would give her the wedding she truly deserves.
Tif and Colby are two of the kindest, most caring people you will ever meet. They ALWAYS put others before themselves and it’s time for them to put themselves first. Tifanie is beyond excited about getting married and starting their life together and I really hope that everyone will vote so that they can have the big beautiful wedding they deserve.
Having been Colby’s sister-in-law for the past 10+ years, I can’t think of anyone more deserving of winning this prize. Colby and Tifanie are two of the most giving people I’ve met. Who else would be so willing to use their vacation time to travel from NY to GA to watch their nieces and nephews while the older brothers took their wives on vacation?
I’ve passed the info to all my family and friends and am hoping they’ll take the few seconds it takes to vote for you guys as well as pass the info on to their friends and family.
When Jim and I won our honeymoon 10 years ago, it really took a burden off our shoulders so I know how winning your dream wedding would be a wonderful blessing to you both.

Tifanie is the most caring and giving person I know; and I am not just saying that because she is my step-daughter. She is always for the underdog. I remember when she started high school and one of her teacher called a young man a F-got. Tifanie the selfless person she is stood up and said to the teacher that he was wrong to say what he said and what if she had called him a certain name. Of course she got into to trouble but stated that she would stood up for that student and anyone else who was treated unfairly. That is the type of person Tifanie is. Colby completes her because he is just as loving and caring as she is. They deserve their dream wedding because it would give them the opportunity to share their special day with their love ones and give Tifanie the wedding she has always dream of.

I met Tifanie when she came into my preschool classroom as a helper from the high school. She was so good with the children and my own daughter loved her. She was also very helpful to me in my early days as a single mom , by babysitting, helping my daughter clean her room, and just taking part of the burden off of me while I adjusted to my new status. Though I don’t know Colby as well, I know that any guy that Tifanie would choose has got to be a winner. If anyone deserves this fairy tale, it’s Tifanie.

I know we’re all trying to accomplish the same thing, which is WIN THE “LUXURY FOR LESS” CONTEST! :-), but Clarence and I thought it was important to formally say, “it was nice meeting you.” I don’t know about your guys, but no matter what, I am LOVING this entire experience! 🙂

I have known Colby for Years. I met him back in college. He’s always been a great guy. I met Tifanie a while ago in Saratoga. She seemed like a really nice girl. They are happy together and definately deserve something as great as this. I wish you two so much Happiness in the World! Much Love, MAE
I have known Colby when Colby was in middle school and high school with my son. He was always happy and did alot of extra curricula activities after the day of school was done. He was in the school play, sang in the choir, was best friends with my son, plus other things. He is good with little kids, and I know he will make a good husband and father someday.
My son and Colby are still friends, and I am happy about this.
I don’t know his girlfriend, however, I am sure she is a sweetie.!

It may not always be true that “with the bad comes good”, but in this case we can make it true. Everyone deserves some good fortune. I vote for Colby and Tifanie simply because optimism deserves nurturing and encouragement.
