Creative Partner Spotlight: Tania Susi Music
Aisle Files recently had the pleasure of catching up with Tania Susi, a Mazzone Hospitality Creative Partner musician. Juilliard-trained and with over 30 years of performing experience, Tania Susi has made a career out of blending passion and precision.
How long have you been in business?
I have been in the wedding business for 30 years. My company, Tania Susi Music, was started in September 2020 during the pandemic. Previous to that, I had co-founded and been the violinist of the Spa City Duo for 13 years here in the Capital Region. My earliest experience in working as a wedding musician started in NYC while I was a student at Juilliard.
What is your favorite thing about your business?
My business specialty is wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours. I play an amplified acoustic violin and I perform both classical and contemporary music styles. My favorite thing about my business is the excitement and anticipation that is mutually conveyed while speaking to new clients. There is something special in customizing an event with live music and connecting with the performer. My clients often find me online and have listened to my music on Youtube or my website. They already love the music! I stand behind my performance 100%. Whether I am preparing a solo performance, or creating a duo, trio or quartet ensemble for the client’s needs, I book events that I will personally oversee and perform at. Quality and service is my top priority!
Describe your favorite memory of working with a client.
Recently, I worked with a couple that had to make a choice between buying a new house or having their wedding, and they chose to have a wedding. During the planning process, the house of their dreams came on the market. My clients sold their existing house, bought the new house, and continued to plan their wedding. During the week of the wedding, my clients moved out of one house, into the new house and continued to have their wedding! They ended up with both the dream house and the dream day!
What do you do when you aren’t working?
I love to listen to all kinds of music and create or record new music in the studio, watch movies (always listening for good movie soundtracks), explore the Adirondack Park, and try new restaurants.
What is your favorite meal?
Mediterranean Cuisine!
What is your favorite thing to eat?
Pizza!
If you weren’t running your business, what would you be doing?
I would be in a service profession of some sort that spreads joy and hope.
What advice would you give brides and grooms?
Don’t stress. Hire wedding professionals to help you, so you can focus on having a great time at your wedding!
