Cycle Adirondacks: The Ride of a Lifetime
The Adirondacks- so much to see, so little time.
Luckily, the Wildlife Conservation Society has solved this problem for all those filled with wanderlust by hosting the first annual Cycle Adirondacks. Cycle Adirondacks is bike-road tour that has cyclists peddling for a good cause through the breathtaking scenery of the Adirondacks for seven days. You now have a chance to see the some of the most stunning lakes and charming local towns in the state. The ride starts and ends at Saranac Lake and each day cyclists ride on average 50 miles (wow!) to another Adirondack town. Below you can see what Cycle Adirondacks 2015 Route Map looked like:
Mazzone Catering was fortunate enough to be involved with this event as we provided mobile-catering services throughout the entire week for the riders and the helpful volunteers. From breakfast, to lunch, to dinner, we were with the bikers every step of the way as they definitely worked up an appetite with all the cardio they did. With each meal, our goal was to spice up the menu for the riders if it be buffet-style breakfasts, traditional lunches, or a delicious barbecue served at the finish line.
By being involved in Cycle Adirondacks, you’re helping support the local businesses in the area as the Wildlife Conservation Society sources as much as they can from local vendors in the area (like Mazzone Catering). They hope that tourists who show up for the event will fall in love with the Adirondacks and all that it offers and come back in the future.
Cycle Adirondacks raises the level of awareness of how fantastic the park and this region are, which makes people more inclined to get involved in related programs such as, the Wildlife Conservation Society’s community-based programs in the Adirondacks. In the end, this event’s goal is to not only help the local environment, but the locals who live in it as well.
